The Mall Blackburn supports Small Business Saturday

The Mall Blackburn is calling for customers to get behind smaller and independent businesses in the town by shopping local and supporting Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday takes place on 6^th December and is a national campaign that was launched in the UK last year to support, inspire and promote small businesses. 

The campaign uses the first Saturday in December to encourage communities to recognise the contribution small companies make to local areas. Last year the initiative boosted the UK economy by £468 million and it is hoped this year will break that record.

The Mall Blackburn includes 18 independent businesses including Chris Shan Jewellers, Stompers and Unique Beauty 4 U, which will all support Small Business Saturday.

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “Smaller independent retailers are at the heart of communities and we are very proud of the businesses we have in The Mall which offer a variety of unique products and services.

“Hopefully our customers will turn up in force on the 6^th December and show independent companies in Blackburn that they are a valued and important part of our community.”
