New users invited to take to the stage

Schools, charity groups, uniformed organisations and performance societies are being invited to view the facilities at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn’s liveliest community venue to be sure of booking a space in 2016.  With the diary nearly full for this year and filling up for next, there’s an appeal for new users to visit for a personal tour of the front of house and back stage facilities and to meet the volunteer technical team and stewards to find out how versatile and affordable the three hundred and thirty seat theatre can be.

Chairman, Michael Berry explained, ‘The venue is often used by schools for end of term performances, fundraisers, award ceremonies, dance school shows and a wide range of shows of all scales, from very simple one person presentations and talks to corporate conferences and full scale musicals.’

The theatre can be hired during the day for as little as £35 per hour with full technical support and stewarding. Mid-week evening availability is from £400.  There are two bar areas, which can also be hired for events and private parties.’
