A new, permanent and totally free soft play area has been installed at The Mall Blackburn.

The bee themed facility, which has been named Busy Bees, has been introduced following feedback from shoppers who wanted somewhere for little ones to let off some steam and have fun.

It contains a slide, stepping stones, seating areas, educational bee facts, activity panels and plenty of space to run around.

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We are thrilled with our new Busy Bees soft play area and after months of planning and design it is now open for our littlest shoppers to enjoy!

“We conduct regular shopper surveys to see if there is anything else we can do to make a visit to The Mall even more enjoyable and the most recent results showed that parents wanted somewhere for the children to enjoy.

“It looks absolutely fabulous and we have already seen lots of children having a great time exploring.

“It isn’t just for the summer holidays either and it will remain in Victoria Court for everyone to enjoy!”

The Mall Blackburn Busy Bees is open every day and is totally free. Located behind the Ask Me Point and across from Burger King in Victoria Court, it is suitable for children age six and under.

Parental supervision is required at all times and parents or guardians are advised to support children under three years of age.
