Great News - We Have a New Home!

Anyone fancy some great news?

Thanks to support from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Thwaites Brewery we've got the keys and have started moving in to our new building. You might recognise it as the former Thwaites Visitor and Training Centre, and previously as a much-loved pub. It's a great space, very different to St John's, but it feels right already and we are proud to be based in another iconic Blackburn building. We are still in the town centre (which was incredibly important to us) on Penny Street, on the opposite side of Brown Street car park to St John's.

It's a very different prospect, but we're excited and ready to get back to doing what we do. We will have to think carefully about and experiment with ways of working as we don't have a traditional performance space or a separate gallery any more, but we have a catering kitchen, function room, separate small rooms, space for Obscura Darkroom and Blackburn Festival of Light. We hope to have all our existing groups up and running again soon and be in a position to welcome new community and arts groups in the near future. We are also looking forward to a warm and cosy winter and not having to make a choice between the audience being able to hear a performance and them being warm!

Thank you everyone for your support during this difficult period, for chipping in to the crowdfunder and for your belief in The Bureau. It's going to be hard work getting going again and we will need you as much as ever in the future, but we're back! Most of our stuff is still stored around Blackburn, but we know where the kettle is, so all is well.
