Blackburn's Red-y for red nose day!

Blackburn town hall has switched it's floodlighting to red to mark the Comic Relief Red Nose day celebrations.

The building, which is normally lit at night with more subtle colours, joins a host of other national landmarks which are turning red for the occasion, including Blackpool Tower, the Manchester Wheel and the London Eye. Blackburn town hall will be lit in red until Red Nose day itself, Friday March 13.

The town centre will be playing host to a number of other Red Nose Day antics, including a Mad Hatter’s tea party at the Markets to which shoppers are invited to turn up in ‘mad hats’ and try their hand at silly circus skills. Thwaites Brewery horses will also be on King William Street from 11.45am while the Thwaites team offer samples of their beers.

Comic Relief spends all the money raised through Red Nose Day to give extremely poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa a helping hand to turn their lives around.
