Croney takes a ride on the BIG Wheel

Regional TV presenter, Paul Crone visited Blackburn town centre today to take a ride on the BIG Wheel and record some Christmas messages from shoppers to be aired on Granada Reports tonight at 6pm.

Crowds gathered to watch the filming on King William Street as 'Croney' picked people out to record their Christmas messages to friends, family and even a pet parrot! Afterwards he hopped onto the wheel with some unsuspecting punters Suzanne Pickering and her mum, and filmed views of Blackburn from the dizzy heights of the 100ft BIG Wheel. Afterwards Suzanne said, "it was quite scary as the camera man kept standing up to get a better view, I'm off home now to make sure I watch and see if we get on the telly!".

The BIG Wheel returned to Blackburn this Christmas after it proved so popular with visitors last year. The snow has caused a few problems for some of the festive events in Blackburn, but the wheel hasn’t stopped running and has been just as popular again. 

The BIG Wheel will be on King William Street in Blackburn until January the 2nd and at only £1.50 per person is a really good festive treat for all the family. Just remember to wrap up warm!
