Huntington Heritage Sculpture Trail

Visitors to Huntington Heritage Trail are in for a treat as sculptures will be on display by international artist, Marjan Wouda who has her work featured in New Zealand and Marseille, France.

The sculpture trail was commissioned by the ‘Friends of Bold Venture Park’ and funded by Groundwork Trust as well as being supported by Blackburn with Darwen Council. It features eight sculptures, based on stories from the local area.

Seven of these are made of steel by Marjan Wouda and most are hung in the trees. The final piece is a relief stone carving into the old quarry wall by Thompson Dagnall who is another well-known sculpture.

A small exhibition of ideas, maquettes, drawings, sketchbooks and background stories is held in the entrance hall of Darwen Library until August 3.

The park is discoverable by going up Borough Road off the A666 in the centre of Darwen.
