Streets Places Journeys Exhibition

An artist who is nationally renowned is taking part in an exhibition at Blackburn Museum, opening this Saturday.

Halima Cassell is building a big reputation and has exhibited her work at V&A a museum of art and design in London. Halima combines her Asian roots with her fascination for African pattern work and a passion for architectural geometry.

Halima will be making a piece specifically for the exhibition which is called Streets Places Journeys. It will feature work by artists who where asked to paint their views of Blackburn. All artists are successful ex-students and lecturers from the art department at Blackburn College

Another artist who will be featured is Richard Cross who teaches at the college. This year he has had two pieces chosen to be shown at the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition.

Other students and lecturers that will be featured are David Coggins, Ian Norris, Steve Pickles and Mark Edmundson. 

The exhibition will be open from September 15, 2pm until February.
