Egyptian Events at Blackburn Museum

As part of the National Museums at Night project & the Festival of Wonders across Pennine Lancashire Museums, Blackburn Museum is holding two Egyptian themed events.

Thursday, 16th May from 6pm to 8pm, local Egyptologist Claire Ollett will talk about the hidden history surrounding the discovery and excavation of Tutankhamens' tomb by Howard Carter. Afterwards you will be able to talk to Claire about her work & view a display of rarely seen objects from the Museum's Egyptology collection - including a Pharaoh's finger-ring. Refreshments will be served. The event is free but please ring to book your place 01254 667130

Saturday 18th May from 5pm to 7pm, take part in a range of Ancient Egyptian themed activities for all the family. These will include a mini excavation to find & record objects, as well as a series of art & craft activities for children & grown ups.
