Dazzling December in store at The Mall

The Mall Blackburn has Christmas all wrapped up with a magical grotto, late night shopping, charity gift-wrapping and a county-wide present appeal.

Elves and fairies have transformed the shopping centre into a winter wonderland and the enchanting grotto, which is in Victoria Court, opened the doors to its first excited visitors on Friday 25th November.

Santa will be in The Mall every day on the run up to Christmas and opening times, booking information and prices can be found on The Mall’s website.

As Christmas truly is the season of giving, The Mall is asking shoppers to support SAMS Christmas Wishes Appeal by donating chocolates, new toys, new clothes and gifts that could benefit vulnerable children, teens and families in the local area.

All gifts can be dropped off at the Ask Me Point in Victoria Court by Monday 12th December and SAMs will then distribute them across the county.

Late night shopping kicks off on 1st December with the shopping centre opening until 8.00pm each Thursday and then every day from Monday 19th December until Friday 23rd December.

Stressed out last minute shoppers have until 4pm on Christmas Eve to finalise wish lists and those strapped for time can take advantage of The Mall’s Christmas wrapping service from 19th December through to the 23rd December.

Lancashire Mind will be running the wrapping service and every single penny raised will go to the charity.

The Boxing Day sale starts at 9.00am until 5.30pm, with opening times returning to normal until News Year’s Eve when The Mall closes at 4.00pm. It will be closed on New Year’s Day and reopen at 10.30am until 4.30pm on Monday 2nd January.

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We are all set for the best Christmas after a very busy and exciting year.

“We have welcomed many new retailers during 2016, all of which add something special to our offering.

“The most recent announcements of four household name eateries coming to the shopping centre means there are plenty of places for a pit stop for Christmas shoppers!

“Our management team works extremely hard all year round to plan for the festive season and they have really pulled out all the stops in 2016.

“I look forward to welcoming shoppers throughout December and into the New Year. I would also like to take this chance to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2017, and thank customers past and present for their support during 2016.”
