Blackburn Youth Zone proved to be the place to be for young people this February Half Term, with over 1,300 visits throughout the week! There was plenty of amazing activities on offer throughout the school holidays including climbing, dance, games, netball, basketball, arts and crafts, baking and much more! It was a week enjoyed by all making it Blackburn Youth Zone’s most popular Half Term ever!

Blackburn Youth Zone’s action packed half term started with a bang on February 12th, with the free Juniors Valentines Disco! Over 130 junior members aged 8–12 danced the night away, sang on the karaoke and made heaps of new friends!

Monday saw the start of Holiday Club, a week long childcare provision offering arts and sports activities with breakfast, lunch and snacks provided. Each morning Holiday Club started with a fun wake and shake in the sports hall to get the children ready for the action packed day ahead.

Throughout the week members took part in over 30 different activities including making superhero masks in the arts area, testing their strength and stamina in the gym, and learning the dance moves to a funky song!

Friday afternoon saw all the members take part in a celebratory performance of the dance routine they had rehearsed throughout the week. After the performance, medals were given out to reward those who had shown good behaviour and superb effort.

The fun continued well into each evening throughout the week, with over 100 Senior Club members, aged 13–18, attending on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Blackburn Youth Zone is now taking bookings for Easter Holiday Club. Open to 8–12 year olds from Monday, 11th April till Friday, 22nd April for just £40 per week*. To book call 01254 292000 or visit
