Fun forecast for The Mall Blackburn

With temperatures in Lancashire set to hover in the mid teens all week The Mall Blackburn is inviting youngsters to come and enjoy its stunning traditional seaside getaway.

Thousands of children from across the county have already had a whale of a time on the beautiful beach, which also has balloon-modelling, face-painting, a giant deckchair, seating area for parents and Punch and Judy shows.

The beach, which is free of charge, is open seven days a week until Sunday 4th September.

In addition, from Monday 15th August until Saturday 26th August there will be free summer crafts, with an exciting weekly timetable ensuring there is something for everyone. 

Monday – Design and build your own delightful dream catchers

Tuesday - Get creative with tissue paper collage

Wednesday - Design and make your own pipe cleaner key rings and bracelets

Thursday - Get behind Team GB and design your own Olympic medals and torches

Friday - Be the centre of attention with your home made selfie props

Saturday - Capture the moment and make your own photo frames

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “As usual, the weather has not been the best since the school holidays started, but the sun is always shining in The Mall.

“The whole concept has been designed as a traditional seaside day out and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our beach, which is located in Victoria Court behind our Ask Me Point.”

Beach opening times are 10.00am until 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays.
