 Blackburn Market ...... it's more than just a Market!

 Blackburn Market is a contemporary maket hall occupying the ground floor of the Mall Shopping Centre. This modern market hall is bright and spacious with all the traditional market offerings. 

Food lovers can buy fresh, seasonal fish, meat and game or take home traditional Lancashire specialities such as black pudding and local cheeses. There are also a number of locally sourced fresh fruit and vegetable stalls plus a host of non food stalls. You can now get everything you need at Blackburn Market including textiles, electrical items, fashionwear, cards and gifts plus much more.

The market has its own food and drink court with a large seating area so you can sit back and relax whilst trying some of the delicious food on offer. There are also a number of cafe's at the opposite end near the Church Street entrance.

Open six days a week the new market has more than 120 stalls with more new traders arriving shortly. Parking for the market can be found on the Mall Shopping Centre where there are 1300 spaces available. Coach parties are also welcome contact Blackburn Visitor Centre on 01254 688040.

Opening Times: Monday - Saturday 8.30am - 5.30pm.

Events:  There is a regular programme of free events throughout the year to keep all the family happy whilst browsing through the many stalls.

 Come & meet the Market’s new resident chef – Philippa James in the new cookery demonstration area. From Saturday, 12th April 2014, Philippa is going to be in the Market every month & will create delicious & nutritious family dishes from ingredients readily available on the Market. A host of local chefs will be joining her & showing customers how to use fresh seasonal produce. Already lined up are Anson Bolton from The Millstones at Mellor, Antony Shirley from the Seafood Pub Company & Sonia Harrison from Liz n'Lils. Next Cookery Demonstrations will be on Saturday 10th May 2014.

 There will be an Easter Eggstravaganza of events in Blackburn Market during the holiday period - Cookery demos, Easter characters, photography exhibition, craft stalls & much more.... Win a Giant Easter Egg (Yes... it's really big!!)  in the Mayor's Charity Raffle. Tickets are £1 & are available from Blackburn Visitor Centre.
