BIG Performance - Children's Theatre
As part of the Celebrate Blackburn BIG Festival, a series of outdoor children's theatre will take place in Blackburn Cathedral Grounds. With performances at 11.00am and 2.30pm why not take along a picnic to enjoy before or after the show. Children can also get their face painted and watch the street entertainment.
Wind in the Willows
A musical adaptation of the classic tale of Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger and their life along the River Bank and in the Wild Wood. From Ratty’s picnic with Mole to the troublesome Mr Toad and his love of motor cars, this production is sure to enthral and entertain.
Tales from the Gypsy Caravan
Combining the art of story telling with performance, three travellers tales from around the world are brought to life. Hear the African tale of The Spider and the Honey Tree, the Slovakian classic Raisa and Baba Yaga and the Chinese story of Big Mouth, Skinflint and the Horse.
Alice’s Adventures through the Looking Glass
Alice is back with more mad cap adventures, this time ‘through the looking glass’. Meet Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee and find out why the Lion and the Unicorn are fighting.
Peter Pan
A tale about the boy who didn’t want to grow up. An adventure with Pirates, Indian Braves and the Lost Boys in Never Never Land. Follow Wendy, Michael and John on their flight with Peter through their bedroom curtains and out towards the stars.
All are invited to join in the fun – why not dress up as your favourite character and bring along a picnic to enjoy between shows! There will also be face painting and balloons to make it an extra fun family day out!
