Cold bloodied crime and grisly executions spanning two centuries will feature in an event coming soon to Blackburn library. Readers can learn all about the fascinating and gruesome murder cases from Lancashire’s history, from the eighteenth century to the 1960s.
Criminal historian and local author, Martin Baggoley, has written a number of publications on the history of crime and punishment. His latest book deals with the men and women who were executed in Lancashire, including some who were publicly hanged near to the scene of their crimes as a warning to others of the dire consequences of breaking the law.
