Sharon Bolton (aka S J Bolton), who has already won an army of fans for her chilling thrillers, ‘Awakening' and ‘Sacrifice' is set to recruit yet more with the launch of her latest book, ‘Blood Harvest'.
Sharon was born and brought up in Lancashire, attending Darwen Moorland High School. Set in Heptonclough a small town nestling on the Pennine moors not far from here, Blood Harvest unravels a bone-chillingly atmospheric tale involving the disappearance of a child, a devastating fire and a mysterious apparition lurking around the churchyard to reveal a terrifying secret. The idea for the story was triggered by a real event that happened to her sister's family; one day their garden wall collapsed, disturbing an old grave in the churchyard next door and revealing some of its contents…
Sharon will be visiting Blackburn library on Wednesday, May 12 at 7.00 pm when she will be talking about ‘Folklore and forensics: making sense of the nightmare' and explaining how she combines scientific fact and superstition to create spine chilling stories that grip the reader from start to finish. She advises that her illustrated talk features dead body parts and is not for the squeamish!
