Blackburn: A Town and Its People – A Retrospective Exhibition by Christopher John Ball at Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery from Saturday, 10th February until Saturday, 5th May 2018. Blackburn Museum is open Wednesday - Saturday 12 -4.45pm.

Christopher John Ball first exhibited ‘Blackburn: A Town and its People’ in 1985. A social commentary captured through photographs taken between 1979 and 1985, it was a personal interpretation of life in Blackburn and the impact of the political climate of the time.

33 years later, Christopher John Ball has revisited the original negatives, and, through combining old and new technologies, has restored, revived and refreshed his original images and brought them back to Blackburn in this 2018 retrospective.

Focussing on images of the people of Blackburn, Chris revisits and reflects on life and culture within the town against a backdrop of economic and political change.

Christopher John Ball BA (Hons) MA is a widely exhibited and published, Blackburn born, London based fine arts photographer, campaigner, writer and lecturer. His work is held within public and private collections worldwide.
