As well as live performances at our local theatres, there is a growing demand for live music/dance venues, festivals & events.
Blackburn with Darwen has several independent venues all offering an eclectic mix of styles & genres and all in very different surroundings! From old Churches to community run public houses, from town centre to rural retreats, folk to funky, classic to club, blues to bands - there really is something for everyone.
Every May Darwen comes alive to the sound of music as they hold their annual 2 day music festival “Darwen Live”. This popular event attracts visitors from near & far as local & national bands play on the main stage & other venues around the town centre. The Bureau is a vibrant new Arts Centre in the heart of Blackburn, providing versatile space for arts activities, theatre, music, cultural events and community participation. They are hosts for Spot On Rural Touring events & hold Dub Ministry club nights throughout the year.
