Lunchtime Recitals take place at Blackburn Cathedral at lunchtimes during school term time at 1 pm.
Organ recitals are given on the Cathedral’s 1969 / 2002 Walker / Wood organ.
The Cathedral also welcomes a variety of instrumentalists as well as vocalists from the UK & further afield. Concerts last about 45 minutes. The recitals are free, but donations are gratefully received towards the furtherance and promotion of the series. A suggested donation of £4.00 is requested.
This season we are delighted to be able to celebrate fifty years of our extaordinary Walker organ. It is a special honor that we have Dr. John Bertalot offering the vote of thanks after our Wednesday recitals, for, with Dr. Francis Jackson, he is responsible for the organ's design and existance
All the concerts are run by the Friends of Blackburn Cathedral Music & are to raise funds to support the musical life of The Cathedral.
Checks & Greys, the Cafe at Blackburn Cathedral, is open for refreshments either before or after the recital.
Please see Blackburn Cathedral's website to see who is performing.
