Witton Weavers Way Walking Festival 16th to 27th June 2014
Now in its eleventh year, the festival boast something for everyone from light strolls to countryside rambles, starting on the 16th to 27th June. Join the Countryside Services Team & partners for 12 days of walks, exploring the towns & countryside in & around Blackburn & Darwen, including the unspoiled West Pennine Moors. All the walks are free & are a fun, healthy way to explore & make new friends.
This year there are walks at lunch time to get you out of the office for a brisk 30 minute walk to Corporation Park or a 5.5 mile evening Stress Buster. If you're new to walking then there's something for you with some easy pace walks. For the more adventurous try the 11 mile Wainwright Way, a linear walk from Blackburn to Whalley. In all there are more than 40 guided walks to choose from!
The Festival is organised by Blackburn with Darwen’s Countryside Services, alongside the Council's Re:fresh Team plus support from many local walking groups. If you would like a copy of the brochure with full details of all the walks please contact Blackburn Visitor Centre 01254 688040
