Food Success puts Blackburn on the map
3rd March 2009
Blackburn has been named as ‘the cream of the crop’ in a recent summary of great grub in Lancashire.
A map showing the location of all the ‘Taste Lancashire - Quality Assured’ accredited eateries has revealed Blackburn as the capital of cuisine with 12 premises recognised for their commitment to local produce and ability to consistently provide a high quality eating experience.
Blackburn has the greatest single concentration of culinary success on the map.
Chris Appleby, the Market Traders representative on Blackburn Town Centre Partnership said: “The initiative recognises the importance of the food and drink industry to tourism, and Blackburn’s dominance on the map is a clear sign that it is fast becoming the centre of great Lancashire food.”
The map is a reflection of the continued commitment in Lancashire to support local businesses and promote the importance of locally produced food.
