MJ's resturant secures Highest Quality award

MJs Restaurant at The Whitehall Hotel in Darwen has secured the Highest Quality Assured accreditation from Taste Lancashire.

The Taste Lancashire scheme was set up by the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board and Quality in Tourism to celebrate local distinctiveness and encourage quality food and drink offer in Lancashire. Places that are awarded Taste Lancashire provide a consistently high quality dining experience and show a commitment to the use of local produce. To achieve the Highest Quality accreditation MJs had to score more than 80% in the rigorous testing of a range of criteria relating to quality, service and local produce.

In just under 2 years MJs Restaurant has gained an enviable local reputation for quality food and genuine hospitality. The food offering is constantly evolving and since the appointment of new Head Chef James Berry, MJs has secured a team of dedicated chefs who are now producing food at a consistently high level with an emphasis on local and regional produce in a modern British style. 

Hotel owner Neil Burrows is "delighted to have received this recognition", and second chef Dominic Taylor was especially pleased as the inspectors sampled the newly introduced pizza from their stone baked oven.
