AJ set to make Blackburn’s Christmas light switch on ‘Strictly’ spectacular!

Dance fever is set to sweep through Blackburn when Strictly’s AJ Odudu turns on the Christmas lights!

Our Economic Development Team has been working hard with The Bid, The Mall and the Blackburn Festival of Light CIC on the ‘Blackburn Glitter Ball’ event planned for Saturday, November 26th.

And, it’s just been announced that the celebrity guest will be Blackburn-born TV presenter, AJ,  who’s family still live in the town.

BBC Radio Lancashire presenters Nish Hindocha and Sharon Hartley will be hosting the free, festive event, which will begin with a performance by Blackburn with Darwen Brass Band, followed by an all-singing, all-dancing opening show by Blackburn-based Pop Up Entertainment.

During the afternoon, talented local dance and theatre schools and performing arts groups will all entertain the crowds.

Then, the finale show – starting at 5.30pm and with an amazing cast of singers, dancers, and performers – will culminate in the town centre’s beautiful Christmas Lights being switched on by AJ, followed by an incredible fireworks display.
