Model citizens required for quirky fashion show.

The Mall Blackburn is launching a month long model search with a difference to celebrate the Blackburn Heritage Festival.

Starting on Saturday 5^th July and running each weekend until 27^th July, the Lancashire’s Got Style competition is looking for people of all ages to represent every decade from the 1940s until present day.

The winners will hit the catwalk in a special fashion show that will feature retailers’ Autumn / Winter ranges on Saturday 13^th September.

Shoppers can enter by going to the Ask Me Point in Victoria Court on each Saturday and Sunday, where they will fill in a simple form and have their picture taken.

Talent scouts will also be in The Mall on the selected days and they will be asking people if they would like to participate.

At the end of each weekend, seven stylish shoppers, one from each decade, will be selected, resulting in 28 finalists.

All finalist pictures will be loaded onto the The Mall’s website from Monday 28^th July when the public can vote for their favourite.

One model from each decade will win a £150 Mall Gift card and be a star and VIP for the day at the event on Saturday 13^th September, which will also include a celebrity appearance

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “Our last Lancashire’s Got Style model search was a huge success and all the winners thoroughly enjoyed their taste of fame.

“This year we are supporting the Blackburn Heritage Festival so we decided to look for models that represent each era from the 1940s until now so I am sure we will get a great mix of people and personalities.

“The fashion show will be part of a huge celebration here in The Mall and very soon we will be announcing who our celebrity guest will be.”

The Blackburn Heritage Festival will take place between Thursday 11^th and Sunday 14^th September and is part of a national Heritage Open Days event.
