Winter Wonderland spectacle comes to Blackburn

WINTER WONDERLAND TO BE AT CENTRE OF BLACKBURN CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR

A MAGICAL Christmas with a spectacular Winter Wonderland igloo at the heart of festive celebrations was unveiled today (Thursday, October 23).

Blackburn Town Centre Partnership, in conjunction with Blackburn with Darwen Council and The Mall, said the plans would help retailers during the difficult economic climate and shoppers trying to make their money go further.

The Winter Wonderland igloo will open on Lancashire Day (November 27) and run until December 23, giving retailers the chance to showcase products as well as featuring festive arts and cultural events and food and drink related demonstrations.

The Partnership is also today launching a loyalty card scheme to help increase business for retailers in the run up to Christmas. Shoppers collect stamps by making a purchase in each zone. Once shoppers have collected 12 stamps from participating retailers, they will be eligible for a fantastic free gift.

In addition, the Town Centre Partnership is distributing a booklet of vouchers from a range of retailers offering discounts of up to 20 per cent.
