LANCASHIRE THINKS THE RED ROSE IS BLOOMING MARVELLOUS!

A Blackburn florist has revealed the county’s favourite flower ahead of this week’s Lancashire Day celebrations.

Stems, which is based in The Mall Blackburn has announced its best-selling bloom is Lancashire’s iconic red rose.

The typically romantic red rose doesn’t just entice flower enthusiasts on Valentine’s Day with sales of the stunning bud blooming all year round.

Wendy Fisher, owner at Stems Florist, said: “Red roses are by far our best selling flower here in The Mall, with people buying them day in day out for everything from birthdays to anniversaries.

“They also remain a very popular wedding flower, with many traditionalists still opting for red rose bouquets and button holes.

 Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “I have to admit, the red rose is my personal favourite and, as a proud Lancastrian, I am delighted to see the county shares this view!”
