THE NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF MAKING RETURNS JULY 2023!

National Festival of Making 2023

The fifth edition of the National Festival of Making weekend will return to Blackburn, Lancashire on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of July 2023.

With a programme that combines art, manufacturing, making and communities, the festival weekend will present a participatory festival programme celebrating making in all its forms.

Put the date in your calendar and let’s get ready to MAKE!

Expect artist and industry commissions, bookable and drop-in making workshops, celebratory music and performance, artisan and local food producers marketplace, STEAM, community projects, a talks programme, street food, curated makers markets and much, much more.

This year will also see the return of Art in Manufacturing, the headline commissioning programme of the National Festival of Making – providing artists with an incomparable platform to make new work in and alongside some of the UK’s major manufacturers.

Want to be part of this year’s festival? We are looking for imaginative and distinctive ideas that engage our multi-generational, diverse audiences with inspiring making content for our festival workshop programme.

Look out for new open calls released next week.
