Counting down the days until Ribble Valley International Piano Week 2023 begins…

In one of the best line-ups for music lovers and pianophiles yet, RVIPW is all set to welcome renowned pianists Paul Lewis, Peter Donohoe, Martin Roscoe, Tyler Hay, Victor Lim, Rose McLachlan and William Bracken to the Croston Theatre, Westholme School, Blackburn for RVIPW 2023. With 14 events available to the public crammed into just 4 days this is as close to total piano immersion as it is possible to get! Plus with ticket prices held to pre-pandemic levels in spite of rising costs it’s amazing value into the bargain.
7 magnificent concerts, 3 Masterclasses and 4 pre-concert evening talks await, with the opportunity to hear not just one but two magnificent Yamaha CFX concert grands onstage at the same time.
Chair Marianne Bailey says; “Thanks to some incredibly generous support from Yamaha UK, we at RVIPW are delighted to be able to offer these two fantastic pianos for Peter Donohoe and Martin Roscoe to play in our opening concert on 12th July at 7.30pm. This will be an unprecedented spectacular auditory and visual experience, and one which we are most grateful to Yamaha for. Tickets are selling well for this event in particular, but we will be sure to have some available on the door for last minute purchase”. Peter and Martin also invite all ticket holders to their pre-concert talk at 6.30pm, offering insights to their long association which began in college days together as students. They will be performing pieces by Mozart, Saint-Saens and Debussy, closing with the barnstorming Rachmaninov Suite no.2 for two pianos.
Evening concerts are all preceded by pre-concert talks, free to ticket holders and Masterclasses are also available for lunchtime concert ticket holders to watch – a great way of gaining insights to what it takes to play piano at this level.
