From Southampton to Blackburn Rovers, where he reigned as one of Europe's most prolific goalscorers and claimed the 1994–95 Premier League title, to his triumphant return to hometown club Newcastle United for a then-world record transfer fee of £15 million. Shearer's impact extended beyond goals, leading Newcastle to the 1998 and 1999 FA Cup finals and etching his name as the club's all-time leading scorer.

A national hero! With 63 appearances and 30 goals for the England national team, Shearer's international success soared at UEFA Euro 1996, where he helped guide England to the semi-finals. He proudly claimed the UEFA Euro Golden Boot and earned a spot in the UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament. King George’s Hall is situated on the corner of Blakey Moor and Northgate in Blackburn Town Centre.

Follow all signs into Blackburn Town Centre & follow brown signs. From A6078 Montague Street turn at Feilden St.

By car: Blackburn is easy to access from the A59 or M65 motorway. There is limited on street parking around the venue but there are a range of car parks within the town centre. The closest facilities include:

• Open air parking – Barton Street: BB2 1JL

• Multi-storey parking – Feilden Street: BB2 1LQ or The Mall: BB2 2DQ

Public Transport Directions

King George's Hall is only a short walk from the main rail & bus stations in Blackburn.

By bus: The Bus Station on Ainsworth Street, in Blackburn town centre provides a network of local buses connecting local towns and villages in Lancashire and beyond. It is conveniently located close to Blackburn Market & The Mall Blackburn.

By train: The main Blackburn railway station is located off Railway Road. Direct trains run from Darwen, Bolton and Manchester.  

On foot: Blackburn Train Station – 10 mins walk; Blackburn Bus Station – 8 mins walk
