Transport and Parking

Blackburn and Darwen is well served by Public transport. The Bus Station, on Brown Street, in Blackburn town centre provides a network of local buses connecting local towns and villages in Lancashire/Manchester and beyond. The main railway station is located off Railway Road and has undergone a major refurbishment to improve the comfort and convenience of train travellers. Smaller  local railway stations at Darwen, Pleasington, Entwistle, Cherry Tree and Wilpshire make the town and countryside around Blackburn and Darwen easily accessible to public transport users.

Travel by car is just as convenient, with good access from the national motorway network, visiting Blackburn and Darwen couldn't be easier. A short drive from the M6 and M65 motorway, Blackburn and Darwen are easy to reach and an ideal base for exploring further afield. Blackpool, the Ribble Valley, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lakes, Liverpool and Manchester are all within an hours drive.

Blackburn Town Centre now has free parking on Saturdays & Sundays & after 3pm weekdays.! The offer applies to council car parks highlighted on the map including the new Feilden Street Multi-storey car park. Please note The Mall & other private car parks are not included.

Darwen Town Centre has free parking on all it's town centre car parks both short and long stay, 7 days a week!

The friendly, knowledgeable staff are on hand 6 days a week to help with any public transport enquiry. Visitors & residents can purchase monthly Spot On, Silver & Gold bus tickets & access our comprehensive range of timetables - not just for Blackburn & Darwen but Lancashire, Manchester & beyond. So whether you need to know how to get to work, a hospital appointment, that important interview or to go shopping, Blackburn Visitor Centre will help plan your journey. If you are travelling by car they will help with directions & parking.

The Centre is also an agent for National Express Coaches. These depart from Blackburn to connect to destinations across the UK & Europe.
