The 2024 Blackburn Winter Warmer 10k and Junior 2k

** (Please note that in the event race cancellation on the day due to bad weather, the race will be run 1 week later on Sunday 11th February 2024) **

A friendly but challenging 10k starting on the athletics track in Witton Park, climbing the heights of Buncer Lane then descending through the countryside of Pleasington then back to the track for a racing finish! You are guaranteed a friendly welcome and plenty of support throughout the race.

Chip timing for the 10k & 2k races. Pacers for the 10k.

The 2023 10K race was a sell out so it is strongly recommended that those wanting a place book in advance as entries on the day cannot be guaranteed.

Registration for the 10k race is inside the Witton Park Arena building at the side of the running track. The minimum age for entry for the 10k is 15 years. 

Registration for the Junior 2k race  is also in Witton Park Arena and entries will be available on the day. Ages strictly 5-15 on the day of the race.

Proof of age may be requested.

Road Directions

A large car park is located at the main entrance to the park off Preston Old Road A674, next to the all-weather sports turf facilities and next to Pleasington playing fields pavilion.

For disabled park users, there are car parking bays on the main car park and also very limited parking at the pavilion. To open the barrier for access up the main drive (15 mph speed limit) a RADAR key is required.

Parking charges only apply to the main and astroturf car parks, from 8am to 9pm, 365 days a year.

Tower Road and Pleasington car parks are free.

The cost is 60p for 2 hours or £1.80 for the whole day. The machines take both coin and card payments (including contactless).

Blue badge holders are exempt from the parking charges if a valid blue badge is correctly displayed.

By Bus: Service No.152 bus from Blackburn, Burnley or Preston.

By Train: Nearest railway stations are Cherry Tree and Mill Hill, both ½ mile away, Blackburn railway station is 1 mile away.
