The Roscoe Piano Trio was originally formed for a performance celebrating the life of Peter Cropper. Martin Roscoe, renowned for his versatility at the keyboard and equally at home in concerto, recital and chamber performances, is joined by Violinist, Fenella Humphreys, winner of BBC Music Magazine’s 2023 Premier Recording Award and Cellist, Jessica Burroughs, Opera North’s Principal.
The evening begins with one Bridge’s best known compositions, Phantasie Trio, a work that established him as one of the leading chamber-music composers of the younger generation. We move then to Beethoven and a work that caused a huge stir at the time for progressing the Piano Trio genre with a dark and lyrical beauty. The evening concludes with Schubert’s Piano Trio No.2, a gigantic masterpiece many believe to be on a par with Beethoven’s “Archduke”.

At the roundabout continue towards Blackburn on the A677, passing Samlesbury Hall on your left. 6 miles from the M6, turn right on to Meins Road After 1 mile along this country road, Westholme School entrance is clearly signposted on your right. Follow the main drive to the large free parking area.
